Prix Scopus 2014: Les photos de la soirée
Le Gala Scopus des Amis suisses du 13 mars 2014, organisé conjointement avec l’École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne, fut l'occasion de décerner le prix Scopus au Professeur Patrick Aebischer, Président de l’EPFL, à l’Hôtel Président Wilson à Genève.
Le professeur Aebischer a été distingué pour son engagement dans la recherche sur le cerveau, en particulier pour les maladies telles que Alzheimer, Parkinson, autisme; ainsi que pour sa collaboration étroite avec l’UHJ.
L’EPFL et l’UHJ mènent depuis plusieurs années des projets communs de recherche sur le cerveau. La soirée du 13 mars avait pour but de lever des fonds pour des bourses d'étudiants et pour les projets communs aux deux institutions.
La soirée fut présentée par Darius Rochebin. Monsieur Daniel Borel de Logitech fit l'éloge du professeur Aebischer, et c'est Monsieur Philippe Amon qui remit le prix Scopus, œuvre de l'artiste suisse Yves Dana, au Professeur Aebischer.
Les professeurs Idan Seguev de l’UHJ et Henry Markram de l’EPFL firent une passionnante présentation du fameux Human Brain Project, la modélisation du cerveau humain.
Les quatre cents convives au dîner de gala eurent le privilège d'assister à un concert exceptionnel du célèbre violoniste Maxim Vengerov, accompagné de dix-huit solistes de l’Académie de musique Menuhin (IMMA International Menuhin Music Academy) et de la pianiste Natalia Morozova.

Swiss Friends of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem
The Swiss Friends of HUJ, led by their President Mrs Gültin Ephrati, held their Scopus Gala 2014 on March 13 in the Hotel President Wilson, right on Lake Geneva.
A scrumptuous dinner followed the cocktail, with over 430 guests.
Mr Darius Rochebin, the star news anchor on Swiss TV, was the MC. Mr Daniel Borel, the founder of Logitech, praised the recipient in his speech.
The Scopus Award was bestowed on Professor Patrick Aebischer, the President of the famous École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) and presented by Mrs Lily Safra and Mr Philippe Amon. Patrick Aebischer is a professor in Neurosciences and Director of the Laboratory on neurodegenerescence in the Brain Mind Institute, and was honored for his commitment in brain research and his close ties with HUJ.
The aim of the evening was some fund-raising for the joint projects between HUJ and EPFL (Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s diseases, autism, post-partum depression…) and for scholarships for HUJ students.
Pr Idan Segev, Director of the Human Brain Project in HUJ, and Pr Henry Markram, his counterpart at EPFL, made a fascinating presentation of the Project.
Swiss artist Yves Dana made the Scopus statue.
The guests had the privilege to attend an exceptional concert of world-famous Maestro Maxim Vengerov with eighteen soloists of the International Menuhin Music Academy and pianist Natalia Morozova.
